Stroll down the sidewalk and shop in small, unique gift shops and dine at the quaint cafes and restaurants. Carrizo Springs features a charming downtown with replica lamps from the 1900's and decorative brick buildings. Tour the farm and packinghouse of Dixondale Farms, the largest and oldest producer of onions in the nation. The area also boasts historical sites, casino trips and close proximity to Mexican borders. There are also nature trails, driving trails and seasonal hunting at the Chaparral. There are great opportunities for birding, wildlife viewing and photography at the Chaparral Wildlife Management Area. The nearby Espantosa Lake and the Nueces River are ideal for fishing, rafting, kayaking, canoeing and swimming. There is plenty to do in Carrizo Springs and its surrounding area.
